Commercial City law firm installs four TopBrewers into new collaborative workspace

Commercial City law firm Bates Wells Braithwaite install three TopBrewers into collaborative refreshment area and another in client kitchen.

 


 

Bates Wells Braithwaite (BWB) has seen significant growth over the years, both organically and laterally, so when the lease was ending on their office in Cannon Street they needed to find a new space that could accommodate their expanding team.

“The brief for the new office was to create an open-plan layout that would foster collaborative working and create a positive working environment for staff.”

Originate Architects were the architects for the new space and Twenty1 Construction were the office fit out specialists who delivered the project.

With over 200 staff and 33 partners, BWB were looking for an office coffee and beverage solution that could cope with high volumes, whilst also complementing the stylish environment of the new space and providing premium quality coffee.

Salvatore Paoli, Facilities Manager at Bates Wells Braithwaite comments:  

“We had five tea points in our old building, spread across three floors, but for the new open plan office we wanted to create one single refreshment point that would cater for all staff and encourage communication amongst colleagues.”

After a demonstration at another TopBrewer client site, BWB chose to install three TopBrewers into a minimalistic refreshment setting for staff to use with a further TopBrewer in the client kitchen area. The TopBrewers provide fresh, barista-quality coffee, chilled & sparkling water, and filtered hot water for tea drinkers. 

 

 

Salvatore, who originally came across the TopBrewer at the Facilities Show, adds:

“I was immediately drawn to the slick, stylish design of the TopBrewer and felt it could be an ideal solution for the environment we were trying to create. We also wanted to offer premium quality coffee and the TopBrewer delivered on all areas.”

Due to the unique under-counter design, the TopBrewer produces minimal noise, making it the ideal solution for an open commercial office environment.  At BWB, all that is visible above the counter are three stylish swan neck taps in a row, each with an accompanying iPad (pre-loaded with the TopBrewer app), which allows users to quickly select and customise their drinks from a comprehensive menu. Alternatively, staff have the option to download the free TopBrewer app onto their own smartphone device and seamlessly connect to a machine via bluetooth.

Megan adds: 

“We wanted a wow factor for our staff when they entered the new office on day one and we certainly received it with the TopBrewer. We have many clients and visitors to the new office and it is always one of the highlights when giving tours around the office. We always encourage visitors to customise their drinks using the app and some of the staff have downloaded the app to their phones.”
